Thirsk and Malton Conservatives won eleven out of twelve seats at the NYCC elections on May 4th. Two divisions (Stillington and Thirsk) were uncontested and there were gains for us in Filey, Pickering and Norton.
In the last decade there has been a 43% increase in the number of people detained under the current Mental Health Act – which raises concerns that vulnerable people are being subject to detention, including in police cells, unnecessarily.
The choice at the election is clear. Strong and stable leadership with Theresa May in the national interest, where what you see is what you get. Or a hung Parliament and coalition of chaos under Jeremy Corbyn.
